Blackberry Media PDF Print E-mail
Written by Eugene K.

Well to start from the top, I have not posted much lately, well anything to be in all honesty!

One thing that I have noticed lately is that not many people actually use their Blackberries for media such as movies and shows. That's quite a shame because this is actually a huge loss for them, full keyword devices actually have a great screen and awesome portable players.
I personally have a very busy lifestyle and I never have time for TV or to catch up on my soaps :P. So lately I have been doing so while traveling downtown or just simply watch some stand up while dozing off when not so posed to.
I personally use xilisoft converter for mac, it is great because it has presets for normal and excellent quality for ipod screen. Blackberries use the same size, making full screen amazing!  It is fast and easy way to get everything on the device! I have a lot of shows downloaded and simply not time so a great way to do it: fist either before bedtime or upon waking up set a few shows on converting and just transfer them to the device. Personally the way I do it is right when I wake up I set a few things on conversion and by the time I am done getting ready and taking a shower everything is ready to go with me!
Just a suggestion post, as I am starting to realize that not a lot of people use their blackberries for media.

So Berry boys and girls get on converting and start using you device's media capability to it's fullest!

PS: This newfound usability has kept me glued to the latest Heroes and Californication Episodes!

Rumors, rumors, rumors...And the fight for middle earth continues. Those nasty old AppleOrks have their App store and now it looks like the BlackBerry Shire is getting one too. Always Assessing, Always Adjusting BlackBerry hobbits are fast assembling a very comprehensive list of applications all in one place. Its not called a store yet, but I see the writing on the wall. Have a browse around and I'll bet you'll agree, this list is impressive. I'll post this link in the forums too.

How Secure is Your BlackBerry and Emails..... PDF Print E-mail
Written by Anthony

I was on a break with a colleague today and happen to be talking about how secure we thought our BlackBerry emails were....Working in a hospital where patient information is completely confidential and could result in severe law suits, we wondered how secure our emails were, even through severs and subsequently...the good ol' internet.

Coincidentally, I came across an article today, and I thought I would share with you. Although it isn't directly related to BlackBerries, it makes you wonder about the feature that makes BlackBerries so great - Push Email, ability and ease of online (on bb) banking, ebay purchases, stock trades, etc. Many of us live and breath by our BlackBerry....

Have a read....it'll change you perception and make you feel vulnerable.... Link is below.

Enjoy!

A.

BlackBerry Storm OS 4.7.0.76 Fact or Fiction? PDF Print E-mail
Written by Andrew Uy

Oh Boy. EvilBlade is not going to like this story. Seems that BoyGenius has published a review, YES A REVIEW,  of a new Operating system for the Storm that no one can verify actually exists. Is it a hoax? Is it the real deal? Well, let me tell you, if RIM has this OS ready for distribution, they better get it out to the public and quick! Many Storm users are already complaining about many of the glitches that this mystery OS claims to address. WOW! Switching from landscape to portrait in a clean 0.75 seconds! Much improved battery life! No more fast tap icon trouble!

It does have its problems too, though to be fair, they are not the new OS's problems, they're left over problems from .65.  That quirky disappearing send button that Andi can't stand is still there when answering calls. The difficult navigation of the media player that frustrates EvilBlade is also still there. And, then there's the camera quirks, oh dear!

Well, real or not, one thing is for sure...The people at RIM have their ears to the ground trying to rectify every problem they can with software fixes as quickly as possible. And, that would be a strong marketing stradegy since all the media hype hasn't exactly been flattering and you know which holiday is just around the corner. Follow the link to a reprint of the BGR.
