My name is Jane and I am a BlackBerry-a-holic. If you are reading you, in all likelihood, have a BlackBerry. I have a BlackBerry, a Bold to be specific, and over my history of BlackBerry ownership, starting with my 7200 series, in the lovely indigo blue color, to my 8707, and then to the sexy little Curve, then finally to my present Bold (cue heavenly voices now). It’s easy to get nostalgic for the 7200, as I recall repeatedly dropping that baby on pavement, in puddles & snow and not once needing to replace it. But, due perhaps in part to my abuse, it became a not very pretty phone that, while it functioned perfectly, did not satisfy my desire and need for visual and tactile stimulation anymore. And, that qwerty keyboard had ruined me for traditional mobile phones- there was no going back. |

This may sound unusual but let me tell you how I was living pre-BlackBerry. My husband travels 3+ weeks a month. I have 4 small children, a software training company and I manage a small non-profit that serves ministries, globally. |

My new BBF(Berry Best Friend) is my BlackBerry 8900. We have been inseparable for about two months now and I can't imagine it any other way!. Her skin is purple and nice and soft to the touch. My friends always know I have the latest "hip phone" out there, as I get quickly sick of old technology. For years I was a Sidekick lover and now since I got my BBF I will never look back!.

I want to start off today by extending my congrats to the people that make our beloved BB's a possibility. The fine folks at Research In Motion Inc. are probably tippin' back the bubbly right about now to celebrate their recent accomplishment - knocking the Apple iPhone off the the smartphone sales throne. The results are in for the 2009 first quarter and the Blackberry Curve was the #1 sold smartphone on the market with 7.8 million devices shipped. Apple's iPhone came in 2nd with only 3.8 million. |

My rationalization for getting the BlackBerry was that I would use it for my home business. I’m a corporate executive by day and a jewelry designer by night. I’ve had my Curve for about two months now and until recently have only used it for fun; checking out my favorite websites, chatting with friends and new acquaintances, posting in the Berrytastic forums. About two weeks ago, my BlackBerry really became a business tool as well. |
